Elevations are exaggerated by 30 times to tease out most of the major terrain features (thus the appearance of clouds being extremely high in the atmosphere). Sources: GEBCO_08 bathymetric raster data provided by the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans. Satellite imagery provided by the NASA's Earth Observatory Blue Marble project.
