The box features a variant of "seigaiha" (undulating ocean waves, lit. "blue sea waves") and "kumo" (stylized Japanese clouds.) [My inner Akatsuki fan is amused by the fact that the red clouds look like the ones on Itachi & co.'s cloaks, but that has nothing to do with this! Snowy, you silly geek! ;A;] The main patterns seem to be done in a sort of yuuzen or something similar; the cords are 3D embroidery "nuido" (traditional Japanese embroidery, which involves a lot of weaving and special 3D effects.)
This is from the skirt of a kurotomesode, which came in a huge lot of antique kimono scraps and fabrics months back; I forgot to photograph it until now.
It's a stock photo if you want it, just like most of my kimono photographs.
